BCA Engineers was involved in the delivery of two new birth to year 12 schools (B-12) Aldinga Payinthi College and Angle Vale Riverbank College. The schools were delivered by Public Private Partnership (PPP) project.

The key features of the design strongly support a modern teaching learning environment, with the integration of both internal and external spaces, and have a clear focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) studies. Community services regimes are incorporated, inclusive of an accessible hub and outdoor facilities designed for community use outside of school hours, including courts, an open gymnasium, and sporting fields. Our services also supported the inclusion of a 300-seat Performing Arts Centre, an Entrepreneurial Hub and 5-Star Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD) principles.

Hamilton Secondary College has a strong Science and Technology focus including the landmark MARS Lander Space Program. This BBS project focused on improving facilities for other learning streams in particular the Arts and fundamentally comprises the following key components:

  • Multipurpose Performing Arts Centre (1300m2) including Planetarium
  • Resource Centre upgrades to create multifunctional Learning Hub & Year 12 Centre
  • Thomson Building Home Economics Kitchen
  • VET Hospitality Training, textiles and theory rooms
  • Outdoor Central Plaza with links to Administration and Resource Centre buildings.

UniSA Smart School is a start of the art learning experience developed by UniSA. The main objective of the project was to study the effectiveness of yet to be experienced latest technologies.

The idea of such a state of art teaching learning facility attracted major sponsorship from Samsung and included up to $1m worth of ICT technology straight from the Research and Development bench in Korea.

The facility is pitched as a multi-purpose teaching facility, where Post Graduate Students, PHD Student, Professors and the like can observe and record the effectiveness of the new teaching technologies.

BCA Engineers was highly involved in providing the infrastructure required to meet the project brief. This involved numerous co-ordination meetings with the project team, Samsung, UniSA representatives, end users and the like.

BCA Engineers successfully delivered design services for Mechanical, Electrical, ICT, AV, Fire Protection, Hydraulic Services, and ESD Services. The end result is a state-of-the-art facility of which UniSA is extremely proud of.
